Years ago we visited India where we faced the horrendous reality of enslaved young girls.

It is estimated that more than one million girls are victims of sexual slavery in Asia, and 500,000 of them are found mostly in India. It is also known that in Nepal alone, the trafficking of girls is between 12,000 and 14,000 each year and is increasing. Many of them suffer rape or for financial needs are sold by their parents to human traffickers, ending up in brothels in the lowest slumps in India and other countries where they are abused, injured, and forced to prostitution. Many of these girls that were sold are later found in Mumbai, where the largest brothel in the world possibly exists, a staggering estimation that is well above 200,000 women!

So years ago it was known that their average age was under 20 years of age. Today, it is calculated that their average is less than 14 years of age!

Sexual slavery is a multimillion dollar business. It is estimated that this illicit business generates about 2 million dollars in the city of Mombay alone, or about 700 million dollars per year! A business equally as profitable or better than drugs.
